1. Acceptance of Terms

By using Novavoy -- whether through our website, iOS app, or any related services -- you agree to these Terms of Service. If you don't agree, please don't use the service. It's that straightforward.

These terms form a legal agreement between you and Next Step Labs ("we," "us," "our"), the company behind Novavoy.

2. About the Service

Novavoy is an AI-powered learning platform that creates personalized educational missions on topics you choose. Think of it as a curiosity engine: you pick a subject, and we generate interactive lessons, games, and challenges to help you explore it.

The service includes:

• AI-generated learning missions tailored to your interests and level
• Interactive lesson formats including games, scenarios, and knowledge checks
• Progress tracking with XP, achievements, and mastery tiers
• Nova, your AI companion who guides the learning experience
• An AI tutor for deeper exploration of topics

3. Your Account

To use Novavoy, you may need to create an account. When you do:

• Provide accurate information and keep it up to date
• Keep your account credentials secure -- you're responsible for activity under your account
• Don't share your account with others or create multiple accounts
• Let us know immediately if you suspect unauthorized access

You must be at least 13 years old to create an account. Novavoy is designed for adults, and we recommend it for users 18 and older.

4. Intellectual Property

What we own

Novavoy, including the app, website, design, code, AI systems, Nova character, branding, and all original content, is owned by Next Step Labs. These terms don't transfer any of our intellectual property to you.

What you own

Your learning data belongs to you. Your progress, notes, achievements, and any content you create within Novavoy are yours. You can export or delete them at any time. We will never claim ownership of your learning journey.

Limited license

We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use Novavoy for your own learning purposes. This license is for personal, non-commercial use only.

5. AI-Generated Content

Novavoy uses artificial intelligence to generate learning content, including lessons, questions, explanations, and tutor responses. A few important things to keep in mind:

• Educational, not professional advice. Novavoy content is designed to teach and spark curiosity. It is not a substitute for professional advice in fields like medicine, law, finance, or engineering. Always consult qualified professionals for important decisions.
• AI can make mistakes. While we work hard to ensure accuracy, AI-generated content may occasionally contain errors, outdated information, or oversimplifications. We encourage critical thinking and verification of important facts.
• Content evolves. The AI may generate different content for the same topic on different occasions. This is by design -- it keeps the learning experience fresh.

6. Subscriptions & Billing

Novavoy offers a free tier and an optional paid subscription (Novavoy Pro).

Free tier

The free tier includes daily fuel cells that let you explore a limited number of missions per day. It's a real learning experience, not a crippled demo.

Novavoy Pro

Pro unlocks unlimited missions, advanced features, and additional benefits. Pricing and features are displayed in the app before you subscribe.

Billing

• Subscriptions are billed through Apple's App Store
• Subscriptions automatically renew unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the end of the current billing period
• You can manage or cancel your subscription through your Apple ID account settings
• Prices may change, but we'll give you notice before any increase takes effect on your account

7. Refunds

Since subscriptions are processed through Apple's App Store, refunds follow Apple's refund policy. To request a refund, contact Apple directly through their support channels or the "Report a Problem" page.

If you're having issues with Novavoy that you think warrant a refund, please reach out to us first at support@novavoy.app. We'd rather fix the problem than lose you as an explorer.

8. Acceptable Use

We want Novavoy to be a great experience for everyone. When using the service, please don't:

• Abuse the AI systems -- don't attempt to manipulate the AI to generate harmful, illegal, or inappropriate content
• Scrape or harvest data -- don't use bots, scripts, or automated tools to extract content or data from Novavoy
• Reverse engineer -- don't decompile, disassemble, or attempt to extract the source code or AI models
• Circumvent restrictions -- don't bypass fuel limits, subscription gates, or other service controls
• Impersonate others -- don't pretend to be someone you're not
• Redistribute content -- don't republish or sell AI-generated lessons or content from Novavoy
• Interfere with the service -- don't introduce malware, overload servers, or disrupt the experience for others

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these guidelines.

9. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Next Step Labs shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including but not limited to loss of data, profits, or goodwill, arising from your use of or inability to use Novavoy.

Our total liability for any claim related to the service shall not exceed the amount you've paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim, or $50, whichever is greater.

Some jurisdictions don't allow certain liability limitations, so some of the above may not apply to you. In those cases, our liability is limited to the fullest extent permitted by law.

10. Disclaimer of Warranties

Novavoy is provided "as is" and "as available." We do our best to keep the service running smoothly and the content accurate, but we can't guarantee perfection. We make no warranties, express or implied, regarding:

• The accuracy or completeness of AI-generated educational content
• Uninterrupted or error-free service availability
• That the service will meet your specific learning requirements
• That any particular learning outcome will be achieved

11. Termination

By you

You can stop using Novavoy at any time. To fully close your account, contact us at support@novavoy.app or use the account deletion option in the app. We'll delete your data as described in our Privacy Policy.

By us

We may suspend or terminate your access if you violate these terms, if required by law, or if we discontinue the service. If we terminate your account without cause, we'll provide reasonable notice and, where applicable, a prorated refund for any remaining subscription period.

What happens after

Upon termination, your license to use Novavoy ends. You can still request export of your learning data for a reasonable period after account closure. Sections of these terms that should naturally survive termination (such as intellectual property, limitation of liability, and governing law) will continue to apply.

12. Changes to These Terms

We may update these terms from time to time. When we do, we'll let you know through the app and/or by email, and we'll update the effective date at the top of this page. Continued use of Novavoy after changes take effect means you accept the updated terms.

For significant changes, we'll give you at least 30 days' notice before they take effect.

13. Governing Law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, United States, without regard to conflict of law principles. Any disputes will be resolved in the courts located in California, though we hope it never comes to that.

If any provision of these terms is found unenforceable, the rest will remain in full effect.
